Not far away lies Filitosa, Corsica’s 8000 year old preeminent prehistoric ruins.  It is listed among the 100 most important historic sites around the Mediterranean.  The Filitosa ruins are of great interest to the scientific world, to art lovers, and to the public at large.  The gulf of Valinco boasts many coves and beaches, one more beautiful than the other, all within a short walk of Villa Torra.  Propriano, Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio can be reached by land or by sea.
